Are you working out – or are you training?

Training or working out – what are you doing in the gym?

What is the difference between training and just working out? Well, the difference is specific, smart goals. When you’re working out, you’re just going to the gym to maybe lose a little weight, get a little stronger, keep up with the grandkids, stay a little healthier. And that’s a great activity or a great reason to go to the gym to keep working out, to get a little bit stronger and more resilient. And a trainer can help keep you accountable along that road.

But the difference is for training, you have a very specific or a smart goal. A smart goal is specific, measurable, attainable, realistic within a time frame. Examples of the smart goals:

  • I want to go hike the Inca Trail.
  • I want to lose two dress sizes for my daughter’s wedding in four months.
  • I want to do my first bodybuilding.
  • I want to go on stage in May.

These are all very specific goals. As a trainer, we can help you attain those goals. So reach out!

If you’re “just” working out, great. I can still help you be accountable and keep you moving forward.

But if you have a specific goal, even if it’s something you haven’t started working towards yet but are thinking about, get in touch with that goal – I’ll get back to you and maybe we can work together and get you to that goal.
